The Ultimate Skunk Remedy
I am out every evening for the last walk thru the neighborhood with Gemma and Hailey my two Golden Retrievers. They love to investigate the bushes along the way and so far, we’ve been ‘skunked’ 3 times, always at the midnite hour! What do you do with 2 indoor dogs who are definitely not setting a paw indoors at that hour of the night? This is solution is tried and true, so effective that your furry friend can rejoin the household within an hour or two.
Skunk Off:
8 oz. bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide (3% solution)
4 oz. box of Baking Soda
2 scoops of Oxyclean powder
1 tsp. dishsoap
1 gallon of warm/hot water
Mix everything together in a pail. Stir thoroughly to dissolve Baking Soda. Apply to a dry dog or cat. Use a hand towel to soak the dog completely with the solution from head to tail. Avoid the eyes. Leave it on for at least an hour. Towel off the excess. Do not rinse. Repeat the following day if necessary. This doesn’t harm the animals coat in any way. Easy to keep materials for 1 or 2 baths on hand. (This is enough for 2 large dogs).
